The main S-Bahn line in Munich, which opened for the 1972 Olympic Games, has now reached its capacity limit. All S-Bahn trains currently have to pass under Munich city center through a tunnel. In order to eliminate this bottleneck and relieve the traffic situation, as well as to create new capacities, a second main line will be built between the Laim and Leuchtenbergring train stations.
RECON, together with the ARGE - consisting of Züblin, Max Bögl, w&f Ingenieurbau and Bauer Spezialtiefbau - is implementing an infrastructure project on Richelstrasse with offices, a visitor center, modern apartments and residential accommodation for their client, Deutsche Bahn.
